What Our Clients Say, With Their Names On It

Every quote below is from a named person at a named business, published with their approval and a link to their company. Nothing here was written by us. Where a client gave us a figure about their own business, we have left it in their words and attributed it to them, because it is their claim to make and not ours.

No cost, no obligation. Or call (866) 747-4707 and speak with Peter Berk or one of his Berk-trained partners.

These are individual experiences, not a forecast. Where a client refers to their own sales, that is their statement about their own business. We have not audited it and we do not offer it as a typical result.

Our reading of them

The themes that recur, in our words

This section is our summary, not the clients’ language.

1

Length of relationship

The striking thing is not what any one client says, it is the dates under their names. Several of these accounts have been re-bought every year for more than fifteen, by clients free to leave at any time with no retainer holding them in place.

2

Growth they can put a number on

Two of the four attach their own sales figures to the account, in their own words. These are advertisers watching a response line, not a reach chart.

3

The buy itself, not the creative

Finding the right stations comes up before anything about the concept. That is the practical value of a buyer placing time across many accounts with no inventory to protect.

4

Creative and casting

Where clients do mention the creative, it is about the practical end of it: help with the script, finding the right voice. Nobody mentions an award, and we have not won any worth naming.

5

Speed and deadlines

Moving fast, meeting deadlines and keeping a schedule on track come up more than anything clever. Broadcast is a logistics business as much as a creative one.

6

A small team, not a rotating one

Peter Berk is involved with every account, but clients are not dealing with one person. Jenn runs the day to day for most of them and Kevin Mannix leads most of the remnant buying. The people who plan your buy are the people who pick up the phone, and that is why the quotes name them.

Longest relationships

The clearest evidence is not a quote

It is an account that keeps buying. Xtermite, the San Diego orange oil termite company, has been a client since January 2000. Power Sales University has bought radio and SiriusXM through us since 2010. Big Lou Insurance has advertised on national radio and SiriusXM through Berk Marketing since 2011, selling term life insurance to people aged 50 to 60 with health issues, a narrow audience and an unusually specific brief for broadcast.

We do not publish results figures of our own, because a number we cannot substantiate is worth nothing to you. What we will say is what a relationship of this length implies on its own: the schedule has been re-bought, year after year, by clients free to leave at any time, with no retainer holding it in place.

Read how the Big Lou campaign is planned on our Big Lou radio advertising page.

Length of relationship is evidence of satisfaction, not a forecast of performance. Your category, offer and budget are different.

Is it right for you?

The advertisers these comments came from, and the ones they did not

Likely a fit if

  • You want a response you can count, such as calls or forms, and you are willing to track it.
  • Your product can be explained out loud in thirty or sixty seconds without a picture.
  • You can fund enough weight for the message to repeat, rather than a single burst.
  • You want one experienced buyer on the account rather than a rotating team.
  • You are prepared to be told a schedule you were offered is not worth buying.
  • You sell to a broad adult audience, nationally or across a defined market.

Probably the wrong buy if

  • You are looking for a guaranteed return, or a number written down before the campaign runs.
  • Your budget covers only a handful of spots, which will not register with anyone.
  • Your audience is a tiny niche better reached by direct outreach.
  • You need the campaign to prove itself within two weeks.
  • You want an agency that will agree with whatever the station has already proposed.
  • Your offer only works when the customer can see the product in detail.

If broadcast is not right for you, we will say so, and there will be no invoice. We own no airtime, so declining a buy costs us a commission and nothing more.

FAQs

Fair questions about testimonials

How were these collected?

We wrote to clients and asked them to describe working with us in a few sentences. We did not supply a script or a list of points to hit. Every named client approved the exact wording that appears on this page, including any punctuation we tidied, and each one knew their business would be linked from it.

Some of these mention large sales figures. Are those verified?

They are the clients’ own statements about their own businesses, quoted as they gave them and attributed to them by name. We have not audited them, they are not averages, and they are not a projection for you. We do not publish results figures in our own voice for exactly that reason.

Can I speak to a reference before I commit?

Yes. Ask, and we will approach clients in a comparable category and put you in touch with any who agree. We will not hand out contact details without permission, and we will not pretend an introduction is available if nobody says yes. If we cannot arrange a relevant reference, we will tell you rather than offer an unrelated one.

What results should I expect from a campaign?

We will not tell you. Results vary by category, offer, creative, budget, market and timing, and nothing is guaranteed. Any agency that quotes you a return before the first spot airs is guessing. What we will do is set out what the schedule buys, agree how response will be tracked, and tell you honestly what we think is achievable in your category before you spend anything.

Do you pay for these, or offer anything in return?

No. Nobody was paid, discounted or given anything for a testimonial. The only thing clients get is a link to their business, which was offered up front when we asked.
